We Love Trinity!

From students--

"After two public schools and home schooling, Trinity Lutheran School has been remarkable. I love the joy that everyone shows in their lives and how considerate and caring my teachers are. Rather than a school, Trinity is more of a family.

When I first came to this school, I was incredibly anxious that it would be difficult to make close friends because everyone had known each other for so long. Despite my worries, they welcomed me and now, it's as if I had been there my whole life. I have been invited to so many movies and shopping trips, I'm so happy to have these friends outside of school. Their love for Christ shows through in the way they treat me. Now, I have life-long friends thanks to Trinity Lutheran School.

My teachers have been guiding me through this past year in God's truth and wisdom. Without my dedicated, loving teachers, I would not be where I am today. Christ's generosity inspires my teachers, I can tell by the way they live and teach.

Trinity also has many activities to offer with other FVL schools, such as the Art Fair, Spelling Bee and Forensics. It's really fun to meet kids my age from other schools. I enjoy being myself and not worrying about what other people think. I am grateful for everything they have done for me and will never forget their unconditional love. Thank you, Trinity Lutheran School, for everything."

"My school has changed my life by giving me the opportunity to hear God's word daily, considering I have lots of friends that don't get to hear the word every day. It's also given me the chance to meet great people who share the same faith as I do. I have met people through the different sports I play and gotten to know people better off the court. My school has shown me how to treat others better and to love everyone equally, even though there may be certain circumstances that show otherwise. My school has taught me to always have faith that God will help us through anything, and to always remember his promise and fulfillment of a Savior. Whenever we go on field trips, or when a basketball tournament is coming up, my school has taught me to always remember who I am, and Who's I am. My school has taught me to always remember everything that God has done for us and that he always is watching over us, even when we think otherwise. My school has taught me to always share my faith with others, even as I go through high school; I should always remain in him, and I will always remember to not go with the "in" crowd, I'll choose what I think is right, and what God says is right, even though I may be pressured by others to do otherwise."

"My school has made a difference in my life in many ways.

My school has given me the chance to grow in my faith and learn more about Jesus. It has also given me the chance to make old and new friends who share the same faith as me.

It has made a difference in my life by teaching me to love one another, just as Jesus loved us, by suffering and dying on the cross to save us from our sins.

My school has taught me to tell others about Jesus. This has given me the push to tell others of my faith and to share with them the good news of Jesus. It has also taught me to pray for people who persecute me for my faith that they would come to faith.

My school has taught me to always, always try new things, especially in high school. It has taught me to do it while I have the chance, to do it because I want to, not because it's what "everyone else" or "all of my friends" are doing.

My school has also taught me that I can help even the people I can't see, like people who live across the world. I can help them by giving mission offerings or praying for them often, that God would give them everything they need like food, water, clothes, shelter, and everyday necessities."

From parents and alumni--

"There is no subject taught in school that is more important than learning about God and His Word. I received a Christian education from Trinity Lutheran School, and I feel that it was this foundation of knowing God that has set the tone for my entire life! I do not feel I would be the same person without having received this Christian education as a child. I want the same thing for my children. I also love the fact that class sizes at Trinity are small, so my children receive the best education possible, with a well-rounded education in all subjects.

My dad, sister, and I all attended Trinity Lutheran School, so it holds sentimental value to me. My childhood memories at Trinity are some of the best ever. It means so much to me that I can now pass on the same education to my own children."

"The school has great teachers and the children get a complete education because they are also learning about Jesus Christ. This carries over into how they approach everything and everyone in life."

"We send our children to Trinity Lutheran School because we want them to have a Christian education. They begin and end every day with a prayer or devotion which reinforces and strengthens their faith.

The fact that this school has been around for 125 years is proof that God's word is ever present, steadfast and enduring. The students and staff treat each other like family. The students learn about God's Word daily. I believe the students also receive more individualized attention than in a large school setting."

"My favorite part is the feel of everyone being family. I truly feel like everyone cares for my daughter and I. My daughter's favorite part of preschool is the art projects."

"Our children attended public school for a few years & we knew their education could be done better. We then home schooled them for four years. When we were ready to send them back to school, we wanted something very different from their public school experience. We wanted less distractions from the worldliness we experienced. We wanted a place where they felt safe & encouraged & loved. We were looking for a Christ-centered education in a family atmosphere. We are blessed because we found just that at Trinity.

We love the smaller atmosphere which gives the teachers the opportunity to really know each child & family.

Also, we've been so pleasantly surprised at the high-tech ways the subjects are brought to life in the classrooms & at home. Our son gets excited to show us the online tools once he gets home from school.

The Christ-centered education is the most important aspect of Trinity to us. We love the way God's plan is incorporated into each subject, but it goes beyond that. We have witnessed the children (our daughter's class, for example) initiating the handling of conflicts based on what God would want them to do. We've seen that children are like us-far from perfect, but we've seen a different level of maturity & responsibility shown by them at Trinity.

Finally, being a non-Trinity church family, we've been welcomed with open arms! We were a little skeptical about how this would work, but we really have felt encouraged, included, & loved. "

Christian Education Throughout

One of the responsibilities I have as principal is to oversee the day-to-day affairs of the school. In this capacity, I had the pleasure of visiting each of our classrooms this week. What I saw certainly sets us apart:

  • - I saw one classroom learning through hands-on discovery and observed their teacher naturally integrating faith into her lesson.
  • - I saw another classroom learning through creative and engaging social studies units, individually developed to meet the needs of those students. How important it is for these students to learn about other cultures as they recognize the need each and every one of us has for a Savior!
  • - I saw yet another classroom fully immersed in the Word of God as presented to them in a strong visual manner. The students were begging to hear the next part of the story which was being saved for the next lesson.
What a jewel is our Christian school!

In Christ Alone,
Mr. Knickelbein
